The knitwear collection “Scones and Meadows" is inspired by vintage 1800s womenswear styles. Although these garments would never have been worn during the period, they imitate the dainty undergarments that women layered themselves in. The color scheme is influenced by farming with the idea of the off-white color being milk and the brown mud. Ultimately the goal for this collection is to emulate vintage clothing while making it wearable for modern day.

As a designer I am drawn to soft fabric and textiles that feel comforting. Smooth and flowy silhouettes have been a focus for me as of late and I have been working to develop my draping skills and combining them with traditional patterning. I am inspired by the idea of designing clothing that takes into consideration sensory sensitivities, hence the smooth fabric. As well, I have also been exploring gender neutral clothing and how to design garments to fit and flatter varying body sizes and types.
